Cosentino describes Rem as inspired by Calacatta Lincoln marble, with brown and grey veining and touches of gold on a light background. The manufacturer lists a Velvet finish.

Plan where the pattern will appear
Start with the slab image and the dimensions of the largest piece in your kitchen. Consider how the pattern will look from the entrance, from the seating area and while you are working at the island.
Mark the sink, hob and any joint positions before judging the visual arrangement. A striking section of vein in an image may fall inside an opening once the worktop is cut.
Coordinate the wall and island details
If you want the same material on an island end or splashback, include those pieces in the first layout discussion. Ask how the pattern will meet at changes of direction and where any unavoidable joints will sit.
Keep the cabinet and wall palette alongside the material sample. A simpler wall finish can leave more visual space for a prominent surface pattern; a matching splashback makes that pattern a larger part of the room.
Check technical details for the actual installation
Confirm the current product sheet, thickness, edge treatment, support and cut-out requirements for the proposed work. An attractive material photograph does not determine how an overhang or opening should be fabricated.
Where the surface meets an appliance, the installer needs the appliance model and its instructions. Suitability and installation details should be agreed for that combination, rather than inferred from a general material claim.
